Russian Education system

To the maximum Russia’s education system is similar to the central Europe’s .It is divided into 4 sections. Primary, Secondary, Higher and Post graduate education. Bachelor Degree’s Nature

In Russia , higher education is provided from 4 to 6 years. In the first 4 years if full time university studies is completed , bachelor’s degree will be available. At the same time, a completion of a course and the state-run research project in the consolation final exam requires such features.4 years bachelor’s degree is provided for other departments apart from medicine.Because of medicine’s courses first stage itself is for 6 years.

One who got bachelor’s degree is qualified for specialist diploma or post graduation. But joining the course and completing it alone will not make a person qualified  for master’s degree. 2  years after finishing the studies only the graduation is provided. 1 year, including training in research, production and thesis are to be done. Added  to that you have to write the final examination.

Special Nature

Currently bachelor’s and master’s degree courses are new.That is not in the traditional soviet education system. Because in the present situation on the global level  in order to be compatible with the education system ,the new changes are done. Because as the old soviet was complicated for the students their arrival to Russia declined dramatically.So only to attract them and competing at the international level the changes are done.

The Master’s degree obtained from the university or the science educational agency is provided the qualification of joining post graduation course for the student.That post graduation course is divided into two stages.

The first stage is if we see in the peripheral level it is equal to the qualification of Ph.D in America. Additional post graduate course (2 to 4 years)provided Dr. Title. The latter title is rarely offered.

Eligibility for Admission

Eventhough there are changes in the rules and regulations according to the university in most cases ,the admission is done based on the student’s previous academic achievements , entrance examination, and face to face interview. Grades and Transcripts should be translated in Russian language for sure. Generally other language students before starting their full time studies , there is a rule of joining the Russian language course and practising it.

The top universities in Russia has the very strict rules for the student admission. Based on the entrance examination conducted year by year that decision is taken. As of the SAT exam is used in America for Bachelor’s degree , all over Russia the educational institutions are using Unified State Examination for the student admission.

If you apply for MA/M.Sc/Ph.D/D.Sc  you must have completed the qualification level course in the same department or department close to chosen one.These rules are followed very strictly in Russia.But in America or Britain this strictness is not there.

Visa Rules

A foreign student allowed in Russia should have a valid  visa , it is to be mainly taken care of.Russia’s visa will be provided only when you have the call letter of the educational institution you are going to study.For getting this call letter it will take 75 days so try your best to start the work earlier. To change this 3 months visa to yearly visa , to get the study visa from the university , you need to get a special call visa.

Finance

In comparison with many other countries , In Russia the expenses for studies is very less. Most of the Russian students need not pay the education fees. For a graduation course the fees will be from 2000 till 8000. At the same time for the accommodation , food and books fees will be from 1500 till 5000 per year. But this expenses will differ from the location and the respective characteristics of a person’s spending way. At the same time for a particular count of students scholarships will be provided in the name of Russian Federal Fellowship.
